The Abandoned Castle
There once was a jewel,
Hidden away from the world,
From people who were cruel,
Sheltered, lying uncurled.
But a greedy prince found out,
Searched high and low for it,
And creeping in came doubt,
He threw a hissy fit.
Then came a guard, his face turned white,
He told the prince what news he found.
The other side moved in the night
And took the diamond from the ground.
The prince’s eyes grew wide,
He declared war!
And rushed outside,
Felt sick to the core.
And then there was a battle for days,
Pain, death and screams,
The prince survived with a graze,
But things were not as they seemed.
For a girl had poisoned his drink,
And the prince was thirsty,
He chugged it down without a wink,
And things became dirty.
Hundreds of years later,
The castle has been abandoned,
Until a brave skater,
At the gates he landed.
